Part 2 of an 8-part discussion handout.
Movement is the first expression of intelligence
The first kind of intelligence
is that of movement.
Think of bacteria,
the original form of Life.
They survived through movement.
This is true of all forms of life.
From the tiny creatures invisible to the eye
To the great whales that live in the sea.
With children too,
Movement is always the first thing to consider.
In intelligent movement,
the body and the mind come together.
This is the essence of harmonious development.
The child sees something in their environment.
They are attracted to it, it calls their attention.
They go to it.
They have a simple idea of something to do with it.
They try out their idea.
They succeed.
They repeat.
Until they master.
And then
they try something more complex.
This is how intelligence grows.
