The Emergence of Self
17th May 2012 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

There are three major developmental turning points (crises) in the psychology of a young child. The emergence of the Ego is one of them, and it happens somewhere around the age of 2.5. The child starts using the word “I”, and explores what it means to be an individual. Fundamentally, the child is developing their Will, which is their ability to be decisive, and to take responsibility for the quality of their life. As adults we might experience our child as going through an “oppositional phase”.
We will be discussing how this crisis can unfold in your child’s life, and what you can do to support it between 12-36 months.
