Nurturing your child’s independence

7-9pm around the kitchen table in the Family Room.

Montessori once said that the refrain of every child is “Help me do it by myself”. Physical independence for the young child leads to independence of mind for the older child. But what does independence mean for a 3 month old? And how does that change for a 15 month old? If independence is something that grows, how does it grow? And what can we do to help it grow?
