Language from birth to 3

Language is one of the two great pillars of child development. Each child is born with the capacity to learn any language, and any number of languages, with equal ease. Language is an extraordinary thing. It is not just a tool for description and communication. It is also a tool for shaping our ideas about the world, and our perspectives on life. So much so that the philosopher Wittgenstein once said “The limits of my language are the limits of my world”. What are the stages in the development of language from birth to three?
